Black people disappear all the time, especially when it gets dark. Where do you think 'Smile so I can see you' came from?

Nicole, I enjoyed your piece about the lack of quality black superheroes, and I agree with it...mostly. First, as for Will Smith not portraying a real superhero...have you seen "Hancock"? He may have been a superhero with attitude (the same could be said of Wolverine), but he was a superhero nonetheless--and a very powerful one at that, which is almost unheard of among black characters. Secondly, about Halle Berry as Storm...of course, making it rain is not such an effective power, but...um, aren't you forgetting something? What about lightning bolts?! Gale-force winds? Hurricanes, tornadoes, or sudden, whiteout blizzards? Those are extremely effective, even deadly, powers, and she can do them all. And it doesn't take her minutes to do it. She can make the weather turn on a dime. Finally, black is black, whether it's milk chocolate, mocha, or dark chocolate, so she counts in that category. But apart from those points of disagreement, I enjoyed your blog, and I'll be back for more.
